Whilst the core of the Shabbat K'dusha is the same as on weekdays, the connecting passages are longer. The Mim'kom'cha section from the Shacharit K'dusha is deeply aspirational for a future when the Temple will be rebuilt and God will again reign in Jerusalem. This beautiful waltz-like melody was composed by Stephen Levey, and I originally arranged it for him almost 10 years ago. The music is replete with romantic harmony and dissonance, and while it is mostly in a minor key, it ends in the relative major, expressing our joyful hopes for the world to come.
