This tune by Shisler is built around a minor arpeggio. Like some other compositions for this prayer (e.g. Goldfarb) it contains a pleading quality over the repeated "aneni, aneni". Va'ani T'filati was the first piece Shisler wrote for synagogue, and though he described it as "inconsequential", it is one of his most well known melodies.
